Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], 77 roads were closed in Himachal Pradesh on Friday after heavy rains and landslides, officials said.

Apart from this, due to rain today 236 power supply schemes have been disrupted in the state and 19 water supply schemes have been disrupted.

Most of the roads being blocked are in Madi district, where 67 roads are blocked.

Seven roads are blocked in Chamba district. One road each in Kangra, Lahaul and Shimla is blocked.

According to an official release, the road connecting Darcha to Sarchu is closed due to floods near Zingzingbar in Lahaul.

In Kangra, the road has been closed due to the bridge being washed away due to rain. According to the release, the construction of the new bridge is likely to be completed by July.

Most disruption in power supply has been seen in Mandi. The number of disrupted power supply schemes in the district is 132.

Due to heavy rains, 115 roads were closed in the state on Thursday.

The weather department has issued an orange alert for the state till Friday, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning in isolated areas.

On Thursday, 15 cm rain was recorded in Kataula (Mandi), 11 cm in Pandoh (Mandi) and 8 cm in Sujanpur Tira (Hamirpur).

The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow warning of heavy rain over the weekend.
