In the first attack, an improvised explosive device targeted a bomb disposal squad vehicle in Datta Khel area of ​​North Waziristan province on Saturday, according to the army. After the explosion the militants started firing.

Five members of the security forces were killed and two were injured.

In the second attack, terrorists attacked a post in Mir Ali area and killed two soldiers.

Pakistan has seen an increase in attacks by the Pakistani Taliban since their Afghan counterparts seized power in Afghanistan in 2021.

The latest attacks come days after militants detonated a bomb at a girls' school in North Waziristan, a region itself considered a hotbed of Islamist militant activity.
