New Delhi (India), At least 69 Indian universities have made it to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by subject, with Jawaharlal Nehru University becoming India's highest-ranked university. The QS World University Rankings by subject for 2024 were released. JNU on Wednesday emerged as India's highest ranked university for development studies, ranked 20th globally. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is one of the top 2 institutes worldwide for business and management studies, along with IIM-Bangalore and Calcutta. The top 50 ranking includes a record 1,559 institutions, welcoming 64 universities from India's ranking entries for the first time and overall performance in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 has increased by 19 per cent and 17 per cent respectively .A total of 69 Indian universities are included with 424. Entries have made it into the QS World University Rankings by subject. Last year, 66 universities made it to the list out of 355 entries. The 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject provides independent comparative analysis on the performance of over 16,40 individual university programs taken by students at over 150 universities. With 96 locations worldwide, 55 academic disciplines and five broad faculty areas, India is the second most represented country in Asia in terms of the number of ranked universities (69), behind mainland China with 101 being the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. Guwahati has performed well after.in Data Science, achieved a global ranking of 51-70, and in Petroleum Engineering, where it ranked 51-100 globally, meanwhile, Savita Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) Chennai for studying dentistry Ranked 24th globally.
