At least 65 people are reported missing after two buses were washed away and fell into a swollen river due to a landslide in Kathmandu, Nepal on Friday. According to a media report, it is believed so.

Two buses carrying 65 passengers went missing in the Trishuli river after a landslide in the Simaltal area on the Narayanghat-Mugling road in Chitwan district, MyRepublica news portal quoted officials as saying.

Chitwan Chief District Officer Inder Dev Yadav confirmed the incident.

Yadav said that rescue workers have started removing the debris of the landslide.

He said that detailed information about the accident is still awaited.

Expressing grief over the disappearance of the bus in the Trishuli river, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has issued instructions for immediate search and rescue operation.
