The report by language learning platform Duolingo is based on a survey conducted in collaboration with YouGov to measure the attitudes of urban Indians towards language and expression.

The findings revealed that more than half (51 percent) of Indians often incorporate unique phrases (from different languages) in their daily conversations.

About 68 percent of urban Indians said that there are some phrases or words in a language that convey subtle meanings that cannot be fully translated or expressed in English; While 69 percent admitted to using language-specific phrases or words to express emotions/feelings (happy/sad) or engage in conversations with family or friends that did not translate perfectly into English May go.

Additionally, 51 percent admitted using these expressions as a form of affection or love language or to incorporate humor and wit into their conversations.
