PESHAWAR: Five Pakistani soldiers were killed when an improvised explosive device detonated on a vehicle carrying security forces in the restive Kurram tribal district bordering Afghanistan, the army said.

The five soldiers have been identified as Havildar Aqeel Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Tafeer, Constable Anosh Roof, Constable Muhammad Azam Khan and Constable Haroon William.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has condemned the killing of five soldiers.
