New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said the Centre's housing scheme for people living in JJ clusters is a testament to "Modi's guarantee", even as he accused the AAP of corruption and neglect.

Addressing an election rally in support of BJP candidate Praveen Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk, Sawant praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the effectiveness of the 'Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan Yojana'.

Sawant said, "This is the biggest proof of Modi ji's guarantee. Today five crore houses have been built in slums across India and with this the development in Delhi has doubled."

According to a party statement, the public meeting at Jailer Wala Bagh was attended by families of 1,70 houses built under the scheme.Sawant also criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), referring to the alleged attack on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal and accusing it of corruption and failing to "protect its own women".

She said there is a disparity between Modi's initiatives to "provide respect and opportunities" to women and AAP's "neglect".

Goa CM said, "Modi ji has given respect to women by providing houses, toilets, LPG cylinders and employment opportunities."

He also urged voters to support BJP candidate Praveen Khandelwal to ensure continuity and expansion of PM's schemes in Delhi.

Speaking at the event, Khandelwal said, “Today, 5 crore houses have been built across the country, of which 4,000 are in Delhi alone. These flats are equipped with modern amenities, community facilities and basic necessities like clean water and sewerage treatment."

He promised to further expand housing initiatives in his constituency, urging voters to support the BJP for continued development. He said, “If you want to walk on the path of progress, then come out of your homes and vote for BJP with an overwhelming majority."
