During the last few hours, the epicenter of tension and violence was mainly the three Lok Sabha constituencies of Sandeshkhali under Basirhat Lok Sabha, various areas of Jadavpur constituency especially Bhangar, Jayanaga and partly some areas of Kolkata-North.

There have been reports of a fierce clash between Trinamool Congress and BJP workers in Sandeshkhali. There are also allegations of firing during the clash.

Trinamool Congress area president Nalini Khatua and local BJP leader Ramkinka Jana were seriously injured in the clash. Both are currently undergoing treatment in the local hospital.

Similarly, during the last two hours, a serious clash broke out between BJP and Trinamool Congress workers in Maipith Baikunthpur village of Jaynagar Lok Sabha constituency. Supporters of both sides were seriously injured in these clashes.

Similarly, the CPI(M) alleged that at least six camp offices of the party were vandalized by Trinamool Congress-backed "goons" and party workers sitting in the camps were beaten up.
