Gurugram: Two men and their associates allegedly attacked some wrestlers practicing at an academy here with sticks on Tuesday morning, injuring four of them. Police gave this information.

He said that the incident took place at the Wrestling Academy in Naurangpur, Sector 79 here, which was the result of a previous dispute with a wrestler there.

The injured people were admitted to the hospital. Police said the accused, residents of Shikohpur village, managed to escape.

He said that an FIR has been registered against 11 named people and one other unidentified person at Khedki Daula police station.

According to the complaint lodged by wrestler Lokesh, when he was going from his home to Nav Shakti Academy, Naurangpur at around 6 in the morning, two people riding a bike blocked his way, police said.

He said that an argument broke out between them and after some time they reached the academy with their companions and allegedly beat Lokesh and other wrestlers with sticks.

“They even threatened to kill us,” Lokesh said in his complaint.

The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera. According to the police, in the CCTV footage, the accused are seen beating the wrestlers badly with sticks.

He said four wrestlers from the academy - Rajbir, Roshan, Jeetu and Lokesh - were injured in the attack and have been admitted to the hospital.

Khedki Daula police station in-charge Bijendra Singh said that on the basis of Lokesh's complaint, an FIR was registered against 11 more unknown people under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code on Tuesday evening.

"Separate teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at the hideouts of the accused. Efforts are being made to arrest them," the SHO said.
