Kochi: Four members of a family, including two children, allegedly burnt to death in a fire at their residence at Angadikkadavu near the international airport in Kochi. Officials gave this information on Saturday.
The incident took place early today and the fire and rescue service team that reached the house found charred bodies inside the bedroom.
He said the fire broke out on the second floor of the house where the bedroom of the deceased couple was located.
A fire service personnel said, "We got the call at 5.20 am. When our team reached the house, their bedroom and the adjacent room on the upper floor were still on fire. By then, all four were burnt to death."
It is being told that an elderly woman was sleeping downstairs at the time of the accident and was later taken to a nearby house.
Sources said that the real cause of the fire will be known only after scientific investigation.
