Islamabad [Pakistan], Former Pakistan cricketer and director of cricket Mohammed Hafeez lashed out at the team for their alleged indifferent attitude towards the game during his tenure, claiming that four or five players slept inside the room during a match test against Australia.

Hafeez was appointed Director of Cricket following the team's poor performance in the 50-over Cricket World Cup held in India last year, in which they finished fifth with just four wins in nine matches, with Mickey Arthur as Director. However, Hafeez's tenure was also not much better as Australia beat Pakistan 3-0 in a Test series in Australia and New Zealand also defeated Pakistan 4-1 in the T20I series after the series against Australia.

Speaking on the Prairie Fire Club Podcast hosted by legendary cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, Hafeez said: "I walked into the dressing room and discovered that four to five players were sleeping in the dressing room while playing Test cricket. I thought: ' How? Can you do that? If you do something like this, you can't be part of this team. I want you guys to stay focused during and outside of the game, whatever you do, it's your own life, I never get involved in that. "In professional game times, I want you to focus on the game."

The 43-year-old said the country's media did not allow his disciplinary attitude towards the team, saying: "Tell me, Gilly (Gilchrist), if a player is sleeping in the dressing room and we are playing Test cricket. 4 or 5 players They sleep in the locker room, should I allow it as the team manager? You can't disconnect during the game, but unfortunately the media didn't like it."

Pakistan bowed out of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup being held in the West Indies and the United States after a win over Ireland. Although they managed to win the remaining two matches against Canada and Ireland, it was not enough as they had lost matches to the United States and their arch-rival Pakistan, which seemed winnable for the most part. Pakistan finished the group stage with two wins and two losses and a total of four points to finish third in Group A.

Pakistan's next mission is likely to be a Test series against Bangladesh in August this year.
