Kabul [Afghanistan]: An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Afghanistan early Wednesday, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

The tremors were felt at 04:36:28 IST and the depth of the earthquake was recorded at 30 km.

"EQ of M: 4.0, Date: 12/06/2024 04:36:28 IST, Latitude: 35.29 N, Longitude: 70.90 E, Depth: 30 km, Location: Afghanistan," NCS wrote in a post on Twitter.

There have been no reports of any loss of life or property so far.

There remains a threat of disasters in Afghanistan, which has further increased the humanitarian crisis in the country.

There was an earthquake in Afghanistan yesterday also. The earthquake's intensity was 4.3 on the Richter scale and it hit the country early Tuesday. The time was reported as 02:15:35 IST, and the depth was recorded as 160 km by the NCS.
