Palghar, Maharashtra: Police have arrested a couple and another member of their family for allegedly murdering a 58-year-old man following a dispute in Palghar district of Maharashtra. An official gave this information on Sunday.

He said the victim, identified as Gajanan Ganpat Davane, was brutally attacked on Friday evening, resulting in his death.

An official of Gholwad police station said the fight broke out between the victim's family and the accused in an area of ​​Talasari area of ​​the district following a long-running dispute over an approach road near their homes.

He said the accused allegedly thrashed the victim and hit him with a wooden stick, causing multiple injuries including on his eyes, nose and private parts.

Later the victim's son took him to a hospital in Umargaon where he was declared dead. The officer said that the body has been sent for postmortem.

Following a complaint by the victim's son, the police on Saturday arrested a man living in the neighbourhood, his wife and his brother.

He has been booked under various sections of the Indian Judicial Code, including 103(1) (murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(3) (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). 352 (assault) is included. or use of criminal force) and 3(5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention of all), the police said.
