Kolkata: Nearly 29 lakh passengers have traveled from Kolkata Metro's Green Line 2 (Howrah Maidan-Esplanade) to Blue Line (Dakshineshwar-New Garia), an official statement said.

Green Line 2 or the down-river portion of the metro was commissioned on March 15.

According to a Kolkata Metro statement on Friday, around 29 lakh passengers traveled from various stations on the corridor to the Blue Line stations since the commencement of commercial services on the downstream section of Green Line-2 till June 30.

The interchanging point of these two corridors of Kolkata Metro is Esplanade station.

It said that to make this interchanging easier and more flexible, queue managers have been installed at the Esplanade Metro station to ensure seamless interchange of passengers between the Old Esplanade station (Blue Line) and the New Esplanade station (Green Line). went.
