New Delhi [India], Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the 11th list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections starting from April 19. There is only one name in the list. BJP has fielded Vinod Kumar Bind from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh. He is currently an MLA from Majhwan assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier on April 10, BJP had released its 10th list of candidates for nine Lok Sabha seats. This included seven seats from Uttar Pradesh, one each from West Bengal and Chandigarh. The seven candidates fielded from Uttar Pradesh are: Jaiveer Singh Thaku (Mainpuri), Vinod Sonkar (Kaushambi), Praveen Patel (Phulpur), Neeraj Tripath (Allahabad), Neeraj Shekhar (Ballia), BP Saroj (Machhalishahr) and Paras Nath. Ra (Ghazipur) SS Ahluwalia will contest from Asansol Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal and Sanja Tandon is from Chandigarh Uttar Pradesh, a political base with 80 Lok Sabha seats which is important in Indian politics. The upcoming 2024 elections will see a tough competition between major parties like BJP, Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Sama Party. Bhadohi Lok Sabha constituency consists of five assembly constituencies (Bhadohi Jaunpur, Aurai, Pratappur and Handia), out of which one seat has become vacant. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Ramesh Chand won the seat reserved for Scheduled Castes by a margin of 43,615 votes. He defeated Ranganath Mishra of BSP, who got 4,66,414 votes. BJP's Virendra Singh won the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. BS candidate Rakesh Dhar Tripathi got 245,554 votes and was the runner-up. Virendra Singh defeated Rakesh Dhar Tripathi by 158141 votes.
