Jaipur: Two people were killed in an explosion at an arms and ammunition dealer's shop in Rajasthan's Udaipur city on Tuesday. Police gave this information.

Udaipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Yogesh Goyal said that the shop was a licensed shop and was located on the first floor of a small two-storey building.

He said the blast occurred on the stairs leading to the first floor and the shop owner Rajendra and another person, probably a part-time employee, died on the spot.

Police said Rajendra was thrown about 30 feet by the blast and his mutilated body fell across the road.

"Several cartridges were found scattered near the staircase. It was not immediately known how the blast occurred. An FSL team has reached the spot to collect evidence," Goyal said.

He said the identity of the second victim was being ascertained.

Police said that this incident spread panic in the area.
