Muzaffarnagar (UP): Two people were killed and eight others injured when a tempo they were traveling in collided with a truck here on Sunday, police said.

Circle Officer Rupali Rao said the incident took place in Nai Mandi area when a tempo loaded with passengers went out of control on Bhopa Road and collided with a truck parked on the roadside.

He told that Renu (40) and Deepak (18) died in this accident.

Police said eight people were injured in the accident and have been admitted to hospital, adding that the truck driver fled the spot with the vehicle.
