Two Indians have been arrested in Kathmandu, Nepal for cheating people of lakhs of rupees by providing yellow metal in the name of gold. Police gave this information on Thursday.

Prabha Devi, 71, and Ramnarayan Sulengi, 42, both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were arrested on Wednesday for providing a yellow necklace made to look like gold in exchange for payment of Rs. A local businessman was given Rs 400,000, police said.

Soon after the incident, he was arrested from Lekhnath Municipality while traveling towards India in a vehicle.

Police recovered the money. Rs 3 lakh 90 thousand in cash was found from them.

He has been detained for seven days after taking permission from Kashki District Court to conduct further investigation in the case.
