A joint team of police, CRPF and Army busted a terrorist hideout in Mendhar sub-division of hilly Poonch district and recovered two IEDs weighing 3 kg hidden inside a cave, officials said.
“Around 6 am, a search operation was launched by SOG Mendhar of police along with 246th battalion of CRPF and Army police component in Pasan Wali and Sanai Gali in Gursai and its surrounding areas. During the search, a suspected terrorist hideout was busted and 2 IEDs weighing 3 kg, bundle of electrical wires, batteries, medicines and clothes were recovered, an official said.
Officials said that the explosive devices were kept wrapped in polythene bags and there was also information about the presence of three armed terrorists.
"The IED has been destroyed in a controlled manner," the officer said.
