New Delhi: A 16-year-old boy has been shot dead outside a garment shop in Jafrabad area of ​​northeast Delhi. Police gave this information on Friday.

He said an FIR has been registered on the complaint of the boy's elder brother, who said that the victim, his friend and he were attacked and assaulted by some people when they were leaving the shop after purchasing some T-shirts. Were coming out.

Police said he and his attackers were residents of either Welcome area or Kabir Nagar area and were known to each other. Police said that the incident took place near Mercari Chowk in Jafrabad at around 9:35 pm on Thursday night.

He said that the boy was shot in the back and died during treatment at GTB Hospital. He said that the reason behind the incident is being ascertained.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Joy Tirkey said, "The injured boy was taken to GTB Hospital, where he was declared brought dead during treatment."

He said, "Around 9 pm, some people came on two scooters and stopped them outside the shop."

“They tried to take the complainant, his brother and friend with them,” the DCP said. He said when the complainant protested, one of the men opened fire and "the 16-year-old boy was shot in the back."

Tirkey said the body has been sent for postmortem and footage from CCTV cameras is being analyzed to trace and arrest the culprits.
