Bareilly (UP), Police are searching for a 22-year-old man after the girl's parents alleged that she was raped and pushed in front of a train after harassing her for months.

The mother of the 15-year-old girl, whose body was found on the railway track on Wednesday, also alleged that the man had converted her to Islam a month ago.

Members of local right-wing Hindu groups protested outside the police station on Wednesday and Thursday against the incident.

According to the mother's complaint to the police, Fariyad (22), a resident of the same area, had been harassing her daughter for the last seven months. The daughter told her mother a month ago that the complaint had forced her to convert to Islam. Complaint.

The FIR reads, "On Thursday, when my daughter was going to fill the form for Class 12 improvement exam, Fariyad forcefully took my daughter on a bike, raped her and pushed her in front of a moving train, causing her death. Died."

Based on the complaint, the police on Thursday registered a case against the man under sections 302 (murder), 376 (rape), 363 (kidnapping), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code as well as relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses. An FIR was lodged under the Indian Penal Code (POCSO) Act and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act.

Circle Officer (CO) Gaurav Singh said, "The body has been sent for postmortem and the matter is under investigation. We are also making efforts to arrest the accused."
