Baharampur (West Bengal), At least 15 children fell ill after lightning struck a tree inside a school campus in West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Thursday, an official said.
Students of Bhagirathpur High School in Domkal fell ill when lightning struck a tree adjacent to the institute's building, he said.
They fell ill due to the flashing and deafening noise of lightning, the official said.
He was immediately taken to Domkal Super Specialty Hospital by the local people, school authorities and some parents.
The condition of the children is stable but they are in a state of shock and will be discharged after observation, the official said.
