Ballia (UP), A girl here was allegedly raped by her 13-year-old neighbour, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place on Wednesday in Narhi police station area.
Station House Officer (SHO) Panne Lal said, the eight-year-old girl was alone on the terrace of her house when the accused jumped from the terrace of her house and raped her before fleeing from the spot.
The girl narrated her ordeal to her parents, who informed the police, he said.
"Based on the complaint of the girl's mother, we have registered a case in the matter and started investigation," the SHO said.
