The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Anjali Sharma who had left home for school.
Police said the girl can be seen entering the society in the CCTV camera installed at the entrance of the high-rise building.
Town Inspector Taresh Soni said, "Preliminary investigation revealed that the girl left her home for school, but she went to a high-rise building located on the way and jumped from the building. Further investigation is underway."
The security guard and some other society members took him to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival, Soni said, adding that the parents of the victims would be questioned.
This unfortunate incident came to light on the very first day of opening of schools in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
