Ranchi: Twelve Maoists surrendered before security personnel in Wes Singhbhum district of Jharkhand on Thursday.

Red rebels were active in the forests of Saranda and Kolhan.

“Twelve Maoists have surrendered before the security personnel. They were operating in Saranda and Kolhan areas and belonged to the group of Maoist Misir Besra, who had a bounty of Rs 1 crore on their heads,” said a senior police officer.

West Singhbhum is considered one of the most Left Wing Extremism affected districts in the country.
