Chandigarh, Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force has arrested 11 members of an organized criminal gang in a joint operation with central agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said in a post, "In a major success, #AGTF Punjab has arrested 11 members of an organized criminal gang run by Charanjit Singh alias Raju Shooter in a joint operation with Centra agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police. The members have been arrested." Friday at X.

Yadav said the gang was involved in a failed attempt to rob a bank in Dhotian village of Tarn Taran in September 2023, during which a police officer was seriously injured in the firing by the accused.

"On April 16, 2024, associates of Raju the shooter conspired to make him escape from the Civil Hospital, Tarn Taran, where he was admitted for treatment," the DGP said in his post.

He further said that the arrested accused were involved in organized criminal activities like attempt to murder, robbery and drug trafficking.

X Post said four weapons – three pistols and a double barrel gun – and 26 live cartridges were recovered from the arrested gang members.
