A total of 11 candidates are contesting in this by-election. The election process will follow normal protocols, including voting at designated polling stations and verification of voters' identity.

Bima Bharti is the only woman candidate among the 11 candidates in the Rupauli assembly by-election. Former MLA from Rupauli seat Bima Bharti has resigned to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

A triangular contest is expected between Bima Bharti (RJD), Kaladhar Mandal (JD-U) and Shankar Singh (Independent) in the by-election.

According to official data released by the Election Commission, a total of 3.13 lakh voters, including 1.61 lakh (male), 1.51 lakh (female) and 16 (transgender), will decide the fate of 11 candidates.

Interestingly, there are 59 voters above 100 years of age. Of these, 25 are male and 34 female voters.

The number of first-time voters in the 18-19 age group is 3951, which includes 1721 female and 2230 male voters.

Total service voters are 242 which include 229 males and 13 females while PwD (Persons with Disability) voters are 3055 which include 1946 males and 1109 female voters.

57522 voters are in the 20-29 age group, including 30273 males, 27246 females and three transgender voters.

The number of voters above 85 years of age in the constituency is 1967, which includes 832 male and 1135 female voters.

A total of 321 polling stations have been established at 164 places for the elections. Of these, 291 are in rural areas and 30 are in urban areas. These setups ensure that voters from different locations can easily exercise their electoral rights.
