Lucknow: Ten members from Uttar Pradesh were on Sunday inducted into the Union Council of Ministers of the BJP-led NDA government, with the caste balance being heavy.

In the Modi 3.0 government, five backward, two Dalit and three advanced caste leaders from UP have been given ministerial posts.

The NDA suffered a serious defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, while the Indian Bloc made huge gains and the Samajwadi Party attributed its victory to its "PDA" formula.

PDA means that SP's focus is on 'backward, Dalit, minority'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and five members of the Other Backward Class (OBC) community from UP have been included in the formation of the new government.

Apart from Modi (Teli-Vaishya community), the others are Jayant Chaudhary (Jat), Pankaj Chaudhary (Kurmi), Anupriya Patel (Kurmi) and BL Verma (Lodh).

Kamlesh Paswan (Pasi) and SP Baghel (Dhangar), who come from Dalit community, have also been given a place in the government.

Three so-called upper caste leaders have been given a chance in the Union Council of Ministers. Rajnath Singh and Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh, who took oath after Modi, come from the Kshatriya community, while another Minister of State Jitin Prasad represents the Brahmin community.Among the ministers inducted into the Modi 3.0 government (from allies) are RLD's Jayant Chaudhary who was honored with the post of minister of state with independent charge, Apna Dal (S) chief Anupriya Patel, who has been in the NDA since 2014, for the third time in the state. Has been successful in becoming a minister.

BJP's other allies in UP, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) led by UP government's Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (Nishad) led by UP Fisheries Minister Sanjay Nishad, have been included in the council. No place found. The ministers had to face defeat in the elections.

SBSP chief's son Arvind Rajbhar lost to SP candidate Rajeev Rai in Ghosi, while former MP Praveen Nishad, son of the Nishad party chief, who was contesting on the BJP symbol in Sant Kabir Nagar, also lost his seat.

Of the total 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, BJP has won 33 seats, RLD two and Apna Dal (S) only one seat, while Samajwadi Party has won 37 seats and Congress six seats.

Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad, who contested the election alone, won the Nagina seat.BSP could not succeed in winning even a single Lok Sabha seat this time.
