Washington [US], Actor Hiram Casten, best known for his work on TV shows like 'Saved by the Bell', 'Seinfeld' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', has died at the age of 71, New York Post. told.

According to the post on Facebook, the actor was battling prostate cancer. The actor died in the arms of his wife, Diana Kissil Kastenbaum, "just hours after their 38th wedding anniversary," the post reads.

In addition to cancer, Kasten has been battling Crohn's disease for the past seven years. Seinfeld "passed Hiram on his first audition and he became a regular," Diana wrote in the post, adding that the pair "formed a friendship that has lasted 45 years."

Apart from being a part of 'Seinfeld', Casten starred in 'Saved by the Bell', 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', 'Cybill', 'Mad About You' and 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.

In the early 2000s, Casten made appearances in 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch', 'My Wife and Kids' and '7th Heaven'.

The Bronx-born actor is survived by his wife Diana, daughter Millicent Jade, brother-in-law Kevin John Kissil, reports the New York Post.
