Hyderabad: Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery attempt and attack on a jewelery shop owner here on June 20. Police gave this information.

The main accused had returned from America and was living here. He said he resorted to such crimes and was arrested earlier.

Two accused - one wearing a burqa and the other wearing a helmet - entered the store in Medchal area and threatened to kill the owner. They also stabbed him while trying to rob a shop. However, when the owner raised an alarm, both the accused were forced to run away.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Medchal Zone) N Koti Reddy said police formed 16 teams and verified 161 CCTV footages in the area.

A release from the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate said the two accused, aged 36 and 23, were arrested in Nampally here on Saturday.
