Faridabad: The entire family of a businessman, reportedly in debt worth crores of rupees, allegedly attempted mass suicide late last night. Police said that the head of the family lost his life in this incident, while the condition of five others is critical.

He said that all five, including two women and two children, are undergoing treatment in the hospital. An FIR has been registered against 15 accused at Sarai Khwaja Police Station.

According to the police, the incident took place in Sector 37 last night. The son of Shya Goyal (70) had allegedly taken a loan of around Rs 40 crore from people and banks.Allegedly the miscreants and recovery agents were threatening the businessman's family to repay the loan.

Allegedly on Thursday night some miscreants came to his house and kidnapped the guard. They later ran away, leaving the guards behind, but due to fear, Shyam Goyal along with the entire family consumed sleeping pills and cut the vein of his hand, police said.

He told that after hearing the screams, the neighbors reached his house and informed the police.

He was taken to a private hospital in Sector 21, where Shyam Goyal died.According to the police, the condition of his wife Sadhna (65), son Anirudh Goyal (45), Anirudh's wife Nidhi Goyal (40) and his sons Himang (18) and Dhananjay (14) are still critical.

The deceased had a ghee-oil business about ten years ago. He said that when he closed his business, his son Anirudh allegedly took a loan worth crores of rupees and set up a mobile spare parts factory in Noida.

Anirudh said in his complaint, "I was receiving threat calls from Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai and Ahmedabad and the miscreants were threatening to kill my entire family. They tried to kill you last night and killed our guard. Also kidnapped.,

Police said that following the complaint, FIR under relevant sections of IP including kidnapping and abetment of suicide was registered against Mumbai resident Kishan, Ahmedabad resident Swami Ji, Delhi resident Sunny Jain, Dubai resident Gar alias Diwansukh, Rocky, Akash and 10 others.
