CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday expressed confidence that TDP supremo and key NDA leader N Chandrababu Naidu will play an 'important' role in the Central government while advocating for the rights of the southern states.

Stalin met Naidu at New Delhi airport.

"Met Thalaivar Kalaignar (Karunanidhi)'s long time friend Thiru @NCBN garu at Delhi airport. I conveyed my good wishes to him and expressed hope that we will work together to strengthen ties between the brotherly states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Will cooperate."

"I am confident that he will play an important role in advocating for the southern states in the central government and protecting our rights," Stalin said in a post on 'X'.

While Naidu was in the national capital to attend a meeting of leaders of the BJP-led NDA, Stalin attended a meeting of India Bloc constituents.
