Thane: Police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Navi Mumbai's Taloja for allegedly carrying Mephedrone drug worth Rs 6.5 lakh, an official said on Saturday.
The action was taken against accused Mobin Mehboob Khan, an electrician by profession, at around 10 pm on Friday night.
"A team of the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Navi Mumbai Police found Khan wandering suspiciously on a ground in Patle village on Friday night. When police personnel searched him, he was found with 65 grams of Mephedrone (MD). Rs 6,50,000,” the officer said.
He said that a case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Taloja police station on Saturday.
