CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday said veteran Sri Lankan Tamil leader R Sampanthan was a great personality who always raised his voice for the rights of Lankan Tamils ​​and also earned the respect of others.

Paying tribute to the Tamil National Alliance leader, who died in Colombo on June 30 at the age of 91, the Chief Minister said Sampanthan always thought and worked for the welfare of the Tamil people till his last breath.
