New Delhi: Vikramaditya Chaufla was on Tuesday appointed captain of the six-member Indian team for the World Racquetlone Championships to be held in Rotterdam from July 31 to August 4.

Racketlon is a combination sport that requires competitors to play four racket sports: table tennis, badminton, tennis and squash.

Choufala, a former badminton player, was a member of the Indian racketloning team in the last two World Championships. He won the silver medal in the individual category at the 2022 edition held in Rotterdam.

Nihit Kumar Singh, Karan Taneja, Prashant Sen, Nikhi Mansukhani and Nayana Taneja, the only female players, are also part of the team. Racquetlon India Sports Association announced the team on Tuesday.

"It is a great honor for me to lead the team in its third appearance at the World Championships. Racketlon is a sport that is growing rapidly in India and a good performance at the World Championships will increase awareness of the sport. The aim is to To win medals,” said Chaufla, who hails from Udaipur.

KK Cheema, who is the president of Racquetlon India Sports Association, will be the team manager.
