In New Delhi [India], Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said that by 2025, the world will witness the first Indian in space and another Indian embarking on a deep-sea mission.

Speaking at an event, Singh explained India's progress in space and marine exploration. He revealed that four astronauts, three group captains and one wing commander, have been selected for India's first human space mission, Gaganyaan.

"Similarly, India's deep sea mission will see three Indians venture into the deep ocean in 2025," Singh said.

Addressing the audience, Singh also highlighted the significant infrastructure development in northeast India over the last decade, citing it as a model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of progress.

"The infrastructure reform in northeast India in the last decade is Prime Minister Modi's role model of development," Singh said.

Going further, he recalled the new airports put into operation in the Northeast. Increase in the network of all-weather roads and highways, along with remote connectivity. The railways operate trains from Itanagar and new waterways that have been opened.

He categorically mentioned that not only in terms of infrastructure but also in human resource development, it is commendable that recruiters from the hospitality and aviation industries are visiting these states to acquire talent.

Going further, he stated that the Prime Minister is fond of the region and preferred Mizoram to establish a 'Citrus Park - A Center of Excellence' in Mizoram due to its favorable conditions.

"The record number of tourists in Kashmir, nearly 2.5 crore in the last season, is a testimony of development and peace," Singh said.

He also highlighted India's vast resources that are untapped, such as the resources of the Himalayas and the marine resources of 7,500 kilometers of coastline. The minister also shared that the government has managed to bring together agriculture and entrepreneurship through Aroma Mission, which promotes lavender cultivation and economically empowers farmers with the help of technology.”
