New Delhi [India], As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw to a close, Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, Utpal Kumar Singh, today inspected the preparations to welcome the members of the eighteenth Lok Sabha and is monitoring the day-to-day arrangements.

With a view to reduce paper work and make the registration formalities of members seamless, the registration process of newly elected members will be done through an online integrated software application.

Members will not be required to sign multiple physical forms with different branches. This will save a lot of time of the members. The integrated software application not only captures the bio profile data of the MP but also includes the solution for issuing Parliament Identity Card based on facial and biometric capturing and the solution for issuing CGHS cards to members and spouses. Is.With a view to reduce the complexities arising out of the multi-desk approach of the past, it is proposed to complete all the formalities relating to registration, enrolment, transit accommodation and many other matters with minimal movement of members.

The Secretariat has made arrangements from 2 pm. on June 24 and the process will continue from 10 am to 8 pm from June 5 to June 14, 2024, including Saturdays and Sundays. Earlier, the registration of newly elected members used to take place in the old Parliament House building (now the Constitution House). This time the Secretariat has made such arrangements in the Parliament House.

20 digital registration counters with 10 computers each have been set up in the Banquet Hall and Private Dining Room (PDR) in Parliament House Annexe.

These counters are set up for end-to-end registration process.Each counter is equipped with a desktop with two sided screen, printer cum scanner, biometrics and a tab for obtaining signatures. There are separate counters for capturing photographs and facial recognition. Apart from this, arrangements have also been made to simultaneously open SBI bank account, issue permanent identity card and Central Government Health Scheme card to the newly elected members on the spot.

While welcoming the Members, the Secretariat will provide each Member with a set of publications relating to the Constitution of India, Rules, Guidelines and some other useful publications in hard copy. Apart from this, some other publications will also be made available to the members in soft version.A waiting area for family members and guests of MPs has been provided in the banquet hall in the extension of the Parliament House Annexe. In case of large number of guests, spillover will be accommodated in the nearby committee room. A total of 70 officers/staff have been trained to work at the registration counter in shifts. Liaison Officers (LOs) have also been given training to do data entry through tabs while the MPs are waiting in the designated waiting area (Banquet Hall in the EPHA building). The intention is to reduce the registration time for Honorable MPs.They are in the Parliament premises for registration purposes.

Foundation stone laying ceremony of Parliament House, Inauguration of Parliament House, videos on multimedia equipment are kept ready to run in Banquet Hall for Members, Committee Rooms 1 and 2 at EPHA.

A team has been assigned the task of keeping a close watch on the Election Commission website on the day of result declaration and recording the contact details of successful candidates in real time. The team using a software application will be able to check whether the successful candidate is a new MP or a re-elected MP. The same information will be shared with the Liaison Officers (LOS) through the software application for further data entry of their tour itineraries.The dashboard will be available to stakeholders to get updated information in real time.

Efforts have been made to deploy LOs from the same region/language to ensure convenience and faster communication of the members.

LOs have been asked to reach out to members, especially newly elected members, to sensitize them to bring specific set of documents. Members will also be requested to forward certain information to LOSS through email at "[email protected]" or in hard copy. In a progressive move from previous practices, Members of the 18th Lok Sabha will be provided accommodation at Western Court Annexe/Hostel OR A software based computerized system has been implemented for allotment of transit accommodation in buildings/guest houses in the State/Union Territories.Accommodation desks have been set up in the Parliament House complex to allot transit accommodation to newly elected members. Accommodation desk services will be available 24X7.

Guideposts installed at IGI Airport and all three domestic terminals of Delhi, New Delhi, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar Railway Stations (June 4 to June 9 - Temporary) to welcome the elected members of the 18th Lok Sabha and provide them necessary assistance Are. CGHS Medical Post will function on 24X7 basis near Western Court Annexe/Hostel at North Avenue and South Avenue and Telegraph Lane to provide medical facilities to the members. Additionally, ambulance services will also be available 24X7. In case of any medical emergency/sudden illness of the members, nearby hospitals have also been alerted.
