During a press conference held at the District Collectorate here on Saturday, District Collector Praveen Kumar, SP Harshvardhan Raju gave detailed information about the vote counting procedures and arrangements.

Praveen Kumar told the press conference that 16 counting halls have been earmarked for seven constituencies in Tirupati district. “No electronic devices are allowed inside the counting hall,” Kumar said.

Due to sizeable number of postal ballots, a dedicated area has been allotted at Tirupati and Chandragiri.Praveen Kumar also mentioned the deployment of strong security measures involving around 2,500 personnel. "Strict measures have been taken to prevent any undesirable incident," he said.

Meanwhile, the seventh and final phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections is on June 1 in seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The last phase of voting began at 7 am on Saturday in 57 parliamentary constituencies across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

According to the Election Commission of India, more than 10.06 crore voters, including about 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female and 3,574 third-gender voters, are expected to exercise their franchise.After the completion of voting, the results of the exit poll will be broadcast on various TV channels.

The Election Commission has ordered a ban on exit polls from 7 am on April 19 till the end of polling at 6:30 pm on June 1. The high-voltage campaign for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections ended on Thursday.

Voting for the first six phases of the Lok Sabha elections was held on 19 April, 26 April, 7 May, 13 May, 20 May and 25 May. Assembly elections have also been held in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
