Noida: Unaccounted cash worth about Rs 4.75 lakh was seized from two people in separate incidents in Noida and Greater Noida on Saturday, amid the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha elections. The officers provided this information.

He said that with this, the cash seizure in Greater Noida and Gautam Buddha Nagar this election season has crossed Rs 70 lakh.

In a statement, the police said its Flying Squad team and officials of Badalpur police station seized Rs 1.93 lakh from a vehicle during checking near Girdharpur roundabout checkpost.

"The person driving the car has been identified as Rajkumar, a resident of Nandagara area of ​​Ghaziabad," he said.

Separately, the District Information Office said officials seized Rs 2.85 lakh in cash from a car during a check at Chilla border adjacent to Delhi.

"During checking, the person sitting in the car, Imran, a native of Badau district, was found carrying a woman's purse containing 570 Rs 50 notes, worth Rs 2.85 lakh. There are no details or documents related to the money The cash was recovered after which it was shown by them,” said FST-2 in-charge Nagendra Kumar.

Officials said further legal proceedings have been initiated in both the cases and the concerned authorities have been informed about the same.

Voting is to be held in Gautam Buddha Nagar on 26th April.
