While talking to media persons in Purnia on Monday, Yadav emphasized his commitment towards ideological politics while associating himself with the ideology of Congress.

“I have supported Congress-backed candidate Bima Bharti for Rupauli assembly constituency. I urge the people of Rupauli to support Bima Bharti, promising to start development work in the area after the elections,” Yadav said.

Given his appeal and influence in the region, his support could impact the dynamics of the election.

Yadav said that he is committed to the ideology of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Congress and that is why he has distanced himself from the NDA.

Former JDU MLA from Rupauli, Bharti had resigned before the Lok Sabha elections. She later joined RJD and contested from Purnia seat, which she lost.
