Jaipur: A man was allegedly stabbed to death in Kherot village in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh district as angry locals blocked the highway to protest against the murder, police said on Tuesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Heramb Joshi said that late on Monday night, Jai Singh and three-four others allegedly stabbed Ghanshyam Prajapat to death outside his house.

Police said that after the murder, angry locals blocked the Pratapgarh-Ratlam highway.

"The body has been sent to the mortuary of the district hospital for post-mortem. Additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order," Joshi said.

He said that the protesters were also removed from the highway.

Joshi said, the main accused has been detained and is being interrogated.
