A day after a 22-year-old man died while making a reel with a country-made pistol, two accused have been detained for questioning, Kota (Rajasthan) police said on Thursday.

Police said the victim's father Rodulal has alleged that two of his son's friends, Aja Salvi and a boy, conspired to kill Yashwant Nagar on the pretext of shooting a video.

The matter came to light on Wednesday when Yashwant Nagar was shot in the chest while shooting a video with a country-made pistol at a tea shop near Maharishi Gautam Bhawan in Mahavir Nagar Extension. Police said he was immediately taken to New Medical College Hospital where he died.

Speaking to reporters, Rodulal said that according to the video he has seen of his son, a boy was loading the gun and shot Nagar in the chest while Ajay was standing nearby.

He further said that a few days ago, Ajay Nagar was brought from Kota to Jhalawar and a conspiracy was hatched to murder him.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manish Sharma said that based on Rodulal's complaint, a case has been registered against Ajay Salvi and a boy under Section 30 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

After conducting the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family. Police station in-charge Mahendra Maru said that both the accused have been brought for questioning and further investigation is underway.
