PERTH: Former batsman Michael Hussey has become the latest Australian to rule himself out of the race to become India's next head coach, saying it is something he is not keen on right now.

Rahul Dravid is reportedly not keen to continue in the role of head coach after the T20 World Cup in the US, with several Australians including Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer being linked to the post.

However, all of them have claimed to have turned down the offer citing various reasons, while the BCCI has rejected claims of any former Australian cricketer being approached for a high-profile job.

"Certainly as a full-time international coach, it's not something I'm so keen on at this stage of my life," Hussey, the Chennai Super Kings batting coach, was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald. ,

“Out of the game, and even now, it's not really on my radar, and I'm enjoying the balance of coaching as an assistant or head coach and then being able to do some media."I like that balance and I'm still spending some time at home. You'd always love to spend more time at home, but the bucket is pretty full at the moment."

In addition to his role in the IPL, Hussey is also the head coach of Welsh Fire in The Hundred. He is also a commentator for Fox Cricket during the Australia Home Summer.

“They actually play more cricket than probably anyone in the world, they are literally going from tour to tour. So, it will be quite a challenging role where you will have to stand with boots on the ground,” he said.

"You're probably only getting the IPL off, which is eight to 10 weeks, but the rest of the year, you're going to be quite busy."

Earlier, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said that they have not approached any Australian cricketer for the role.

“Neither I nor the BCCI has approached any former Australian cricketer with a coaching offer. The reports circulating in some media sections are completely false.,

Shah clarified in a statement, "Finding the right coach for our national team is a careful and thorough process. We are focused on identifying individuals who have a deep understanding of the Indian cricket structure and have progressed through the ranks Are."

Apart from the Australian team, Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara was also asked about this, but he also clearly rejected it.

Rajasthan director of cricket Sangakkara said, "I have not been approached and I don't have the time to work full-time coaching in India. I am happy with my stint with the Royals and let's see how it goes."Royals.
