Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday said that just because he is not the son of NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, he did not get a chance in politics.

NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that after the age of 80, new people should be given a chance.

On his uncle Sharad Pawar's statement that there had been discussions with the BJP but no decision had been taken to go with it, Ajit Pawar said he was at least accepting that discussions had taken place and said that those talks would take place. Were witnesses.

In July last year, Ajit Pawar and eight other Nationalist Congress Party MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde-BJP government in Maharashtra, leading to a split in the NCP founded by Sharad Pawar (83).

Addressing a rally in Shirur in Pune district, Ajit Pawar said, "I am also above 60 years of age. Do we have a chance or not? Are we being mistreated? That's why we get emotional.Pawar Saheb is also our 'Daivat' (a God) and there is no doubt about it, but after crossing the age of 80, every person has his own time, new people should be given a chance.

"If I were the son of NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, would I not have been given a chance? Yes, I would have got a chance. Just because I am not his son, I did not get a chance. What kind of opportunity is this? Is this justice?" J asked.

The Deputy CM was campaigning for NCP's Shirur Lok Sabha seat candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil.Baramati of Pune district is the stronghold of Pawars.

Ajit Pawar's wife contested the elections from Baramati on May 7 against her sister-in-law and Sharad Pawar's daughter NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule.

The Deputy CM said that he has worked hard in Pune, bringing the District Cooperative Bank under the control of his party.

"I took Pune Zilla Parishad under my control. Pimpri Chinchwad (in Pune district) was never under our control, but from 1992 to 2017, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was brought under the party's control, thereby changing the face of the industrial city. got changed." " He said.

He asked people to come to Baramati and see the development done there.

Speaking to reporters, Ajit Pawar also talked about senior BJP leader and state cabinet minister Chandrakant Patil's statement (during the Lok Sabha election campaign in March) in which he had said that he and his party worker Sharad Pawar Want to defeat.

“He (Patil) should not have made such comments,” he said. (After that statement) I had asked Chandrakant Dada to look after the work of BJP in Pune and he (Ajit Pawar) and his party workers will look after the Baramati Lok Sabha seat."He should not have made such a statement, but I don't know why he said it, but later he never said anything."

Emphasizing Patil's statement, Sule had accused the BJP of hatching a conspiracy to politically eliminate Sharad Pawar.

Asked about Sharad Pawar's statement that there was a discussion with BJ but no decision was taken to go along with him, Ajit Pawar said he was at least accepting that the discussion had taken place.

Ajit Pawar said, "If you did not want to go, then why were the discussions held? If you did not want to go with the BJP, then why were six meetings held with senior (BJP) leaders in Delhi."

He said, “I and (NCP leader) Praful Patel are witnesses of those meetings.(BJP leader and Deputy CM) Devendraji was also present."

He said, after coming back to Mumbai, the decision was changed and the decision was taken to go with Shiv Sena.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Sharad Pawar has said that in the next few years, many regional parties will align more closely with the Congress, or even merge with it.

Responding to this, Ajit Pawar said that he is watching his uncle's statements closely as he has worked closely with him.

“Sometimes he makes statements to create confusion,” he said.He also talks about Uddhavji but I don't think Uddhavji will merge his party with Congress because I have seen him and his working style during the MVA government.

Former CM Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (SP) and Congress are constituents of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the state.

Ajit Pawar said that when his uncle wants to take a decision, he tells it to other party colleagues and shows that it was taken collectively.

"When we decided to join the BJP-Shiv Sena government, at that time he (Sharad Pawar) was the only person who was opposing it. He also asked us to go (with the ruling party) and wanted to retire. Expressed," she said.
