JERSEY CITY (USA): Aditi Ashok had a disappointing start at the Mizuho US Open as she carded a 4-over 76, leaving her tied 99th and in danger of missing the cut.

Aditi, who is still looking for her first top-10 finish on the LPGA in 2024, had two birdies against six bogeys.

LPGA Tour rookie So Mi Lee of Korea shot 6-under 66 to take the lead, while Mao Saigo of Japan shot 4-under 68 in the first round to finish tied for second.

Four players are tied for second place, including Saigo, Bianca Pagdanganan of the Philippines, Gabriella Ruffels of Australia and Andrea Lee of the United States.

Ruffels was one of four players to go bogey-free at Liberty Nation Golf Club on Thursday.

Reigning LPGA Tour champion Rose Zhang, who became a Rolex first-time winner and official tour member with her win at the Mizuho U.S. Open last year, withdrew from the field after playing her first three holes. or AYG AM AY AM
