Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: A 15-year-old boy died after he was electrocuted while swimming in a well in Mumbai's Chembur area on Saturday, police officials said.

The incident took place in Mahul village of Chembur.

According to Mumbai Police, the boy died due to a motor installed illegally in the well to draw water by a nearby hotel. This illegal setup led to an accident, resulting in the death of the young boy.

A case of culpable homicide has been registered against hotel owners Anant Mahulkar, Dayaram Mahulkar and Hariram Mahulkar.

According to police sources, all three persons have been arrested and are currently in police custody till June 18.
