Jarange-Patil is currently undergoing treatment at Galaxy Hospital, where he was admitted on a few occasions earlier, an aide said.

He is suffering from heat-related weakness and dehydration, although his condition is reported to be stable and he is still under medical observation.

The development comes a day after Jarange-Patil announced the launch of a fresh hunger strike from June 4

-Sarti in Jalna district.

Apart from the fifth round of hunger strike, he said he would take out a massive rally from Beed district on June 8.

Jarange-Patil warned that if the ruling Mahayuti government failed to accept all the pending demands of the Marathas, the Marathas would contest all 288 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections to be held in October.

These include implementation of the draft notification of January 2024 to extend reservation benefits to 'Sadhu-Soyare' (bloodline), issuing certificates to enable Marathas to get quota under the OBC category and other demands.
