Malawi's Mining Minister Monica Chang'anamuno said the event follows the successful 2024 Malawi Mining Investment Forum held in Lilongwe during Agriculture, Tourism and Mining Week in April, Xinhua news agency reported.

On Thursday, the Minister told local media that the upcoming virtual forum for Indians in the Diaspora is part of the Malawi government's ongoing efforts to promote the sustainable growth and development of the mining sector.

The forum will include sessions designed for Malawians living abroad to explore unique investment opportunities in the sub-Saharan country's growing mining sector.

Changanamuno said the forum is expected to attract more than 200 Malawians in the diaspora, adding that they will come together to develop Malawi's mining sector under the theme "Global Connections, Local Impact: Investing in Malawi's Minerals". Will discuss to find out strategies and solutions.

Malawi is rich in mineral resources, including rare earth elements, graphite, uranium, gold and gemstones.
