Mangaluru: Two undertrial prisoners lodged in Mangaluru jail were attacked by some inmates on Monday.

According to the police, Topi Naufal and his gang attacked Muhammad Sameer (33), resident of Ullala, and Muhammad Mansoor (30), resident of Boliyar.

The attack took place between 6:30 and 6:45 pm, as captured by the prison's CCTV cameras.

Both the accused and the victim have a history of being involved in assault cases, often involving the use of sharp objects.

He said that both Sameer and Mansoor are now out of danger and are being treated at Wenlock Hospital for injuries on their head, shoulder and other parts of the body.

The case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
