Mangaluru (Karnataka): A 23-year-old woman, who was found "wandering aimlessly" at the Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday, was stopped by the airport security and safely handed over to the police. The officers provided this information.

According to Bajpe police, she had come to Mangaluru airport from Bengaluru by road in the morning. He has also stated his native place as Davanagere.

His family members had lodged a missing report in Davanagere four days ago.

The police have sent him to Government Wenlock Hospital. Police said her relatives have been informed about her safety and they will arrive during the day.

It is suspected that the woman was suffering from depression. However, the police said, they still have to confirm about his condition from doctors.

This is the second incident of a woman roaming openly at the airport, who was rescued safely by alert security personnel and handed over to the police.

A woman from Kadri in Mangaluru city had traveled to the airport on May 14 and was later reunited with her family.
